Introducing Our Ministry
First, what is a "ministry"? A minister is a servant,
so a ministry is an organization that provides a service or services. Ours
include Bible studies, praise meetings, Christian fellowship, celebrations
and even children's movies. (We've sometimes been called "party animals.")
But why is John 17:21 quoted at the top of our site?
It's our motto, because it means Jesus wants His followers to be so closely knit
together that they will astound the world
with their love.
As an Archie comic puts it, "SOME DAY WE'LL MEET
GOD FACE-TO-FACE!!! AND HE REALLY WON'T CARE WHICH CHURCH WE ATTEND!
" But we think the way to look at our ministry is to picture
Christianity as a condominium complex. Each denomination has its own
condo. Each is furnished differently, and people live in the one they like
best.
Our ministry is The
Rec Room.
It lets people meet people from the other condos,
sing and play, pray and worship together with them, and get to know them.
Then they return home to their own condo, where they continue to be fed and
strengthened.
